The Route
The official start and end points of the Essex Way are Epping Tube Station and the High Lighthouse in Harwich and naturally, these points mark the start and finish of the race. There are 5 checkpoints along the way.

Open Tracking
Competitors will receive a GPS tracking device so that family and friends can view their progress and checkpoint splits along the course in real time.

About Us
Race Director: Chris Payne
"I live in Mistley, and the Essex Way passes through the fields and woods behind my house. I first ran a section of it about 9 years ago and I've been in love with it ever since.

Directing the race has been an incredible journey. I've met some awesome people and seen some truly inspiring efforts out on the course".

Chris has completed some cracking ultra events locally (3x SVP100, Five Rivers Ultra, Fields and Forest Ultra & Suffolk Backyard), and further afield (Montane Summer Spine Race, Lakeland 100), is a member of Harwich Runners and is owner of Rocketship Events Ltd.
